In 2005, Tikun Olam became the world’s first organization licensed to produce and distribute medical cannabis to patients with debilitating conditions. We’re applying our more than 15 years’ experience in medical cannabis strain development to our broad-spectrum hemp CBD products.
Fourteen years and 20,000 patients later, Tikun Olam extended its mission to the United States, bringing its premium, proprietary cannabis products to select markets throughout the country. We’re continuing that tradition, with our plant-based and sunshine-grown hemp products, meticulously manufactured to the highest standards to support your health.
Our mission is to “repair the world” one person at a time. We do that by developing THC-free products that are consistent, reliable, and safe -- and available to patients throughout the United States.
What is Hemp?
Hemp is a strain of the Cannabis sativa plant and contains less than 0.3% THC. Though hemp has been used commercially for centuries, we are just now beginning to understand all the benefits it has to offer. In fact, the beneficial properties found in hemp have given rise to an exciting, emerging area of research that shows great promise for human health.
What is CBD?
CBD (or cannabidiol) is a naturally occurring, non-intoxicating, non-addictive cannabinoid or compound that is found primarily in both hemp and marijuana Cannabis Sativa plants.
Why should I care about CBD?
CBD has been used as medicine in different cultures throughout history. In Israel, Tikun Olam has tracked patients using medical cannabis for symptom relief for more than a decade. The research has shown that CBD is safe for human consumption and has the potential to improve the quality of life for patients with wide-ranging symptoms and ailments. It is important to note that this research cannot be directly applied to hemp products, because they don’t have significant levels of THC. However, hemp-derived CBD is the same molecule as CBD derived from the cannabis plant and bestows all the same benefits. The passing of the 2018 Farm Bill has made hemp-derived CBD legal, making its therapeutic benefits available to everyone and opening the doors for new research.
What does “broad-spectrum” mean?
“Broad-spectrum” means that our CBD products have all the naturally occurring compounds, including cannabinoids and terpenes, found in the cannabis plant except for THC. Studies have shown that CBD extracts are more effective when the natural compounds are preserved. This is, compared to taking CBD by itself. Many of the compounds in the hemp plant work together to create an “entourage effect” that increases the therapeutic benefits of the plant’s individual components. Broad-spectrum products allow you to get the “entourage effect” with no risk of intoxication.
Does Tikun Hemp CBD get me high?
No. Our hemp is grown in full compliance with the Colorado Industrial Hemp Pilot Program so it contains less than 0.3% THC when cultivated. Hemp-derived CBD oil is a non-psychoactive compound, meaning that there is no associated high. Tikun Hemp extraction process removes all trace levels of THC to the point that it is completely non-detectable, reassuring a clear mind for consumers. Tikun Hemp products do not cause a high, drunk, or intoxicated feeling and will not show up on a drug test.
How will this impact my body?
When we consume CBD oil, the compounds bind with receptors in a specific system in our body called the endocannabinoid system. Our bodies contain a complex system of naturally occurring endocannabinoids, which play a vital role in human physiology and help modulate balance within the body. Phytocannabinoids and terpenes found in broad-spectrum hemp oil extract may provide support for endocannabinoid system function, helping to facilitate healthy stress and immune responses. CBD works by stimulating receptors of the endocannabinoid system that are found throughout the body while increasing our natural endocannabinoids. This effect has been shown to help facilitate a balance within this body system and may improve many health conditions or ailments. Consuming CBD has also been researched as having a calming effect on the body and acting as a form of anti-anxiety.

the entourage effect, meaning terpenes can intensify or downplay the
effects of the cannabinoid.
